I've determined, from a brief inventory of my ever-expanding library, that I do adore the forbidden romance angle. So, in addition to my list of favorite fictional hotties, I'm adding a list of my favorite forbidden romances (BOOKS only). Again, these are not in any kind of order, just off the top of my head. And, I still reserve the right to change my list according to what I'm reading/obsessing about at the current time.

1. Jace and Clary from Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments.
They're so good for each other and make each other better, like the best of couples. In a shocker of a twist towards the end of City of Bones, Cassandra Clare makes their love forbidden, but I'm still rooting for them to end up together. I can't help it!

2. Percy Jackson & Annabeth Chase from Rick Riordon's Percy Jackson & the Olympians.
Fairly self-explanatory. Parents at war and all that. Still, rooting for Percebeth!

3. Meghan Chase & Ash from Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey.
Again, self-explanatory. Half-Summer Fey Princess. Winter Prince. Doomed, doomed, doomed, and doomed with a side of not-gonna-happen. I haven't read in too far yet, but I'm so hoping for the best! Hopeless romantic and all that.

4. Aislynn & Seth from Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely.
Yet again, self-explanatory. Summer Queen. Mortal boy. I hope that when I get to the rest of the series there's at least hope for the two of them.

5. Eragon & Arya from Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle.
Human Rider. Elven Ambassador. Seventeen. One Hundred. Big gap to cross. Though I think they could. They're good for each other. They're suited. Maybe someday...sigh.

6. Viola & Jinn from Jackson Pearce's As You Wish.
Human girl. Immortal Jinn. Great combonation. Except: he doesn't like the human world, she's hung up over her last break-up and major crush, and he'll be gone the second she makes her third wish.

7. Cassia & Ky from Ally Condie's Matched.
Cassia: a perfectly good girl, content with the rules. Ky: a carefully rebel boy who hates the rules but knows better than to try changing them. Xander: golden boy who likes Cassia and dislikes Ky. In this society, people are Matched to their future spouses by higher-ups. Cassia's Match is Xander...but also Ky, who can't have a Match. In exploring this forbidden romance, Cassia realizes what the rules are really for, what's really happening, and who she might really love.

8. Rose & Dimitri from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy
The Guardians of a Vampire Princess: Vasilisia (Lissa) Dragomir, who can't be together because they have to devote their lives to the protection of the Princess.

9. Serena & Stanton from Lynne Ewing's Daughters of the Moon
The Daughters of the Moon: human daughters of the Moon Goddess Selene who have special powers to help defend the world from the evil Atrox, powers fulled by the moon. Four exist on earth at a time, drawn together by their powers. At the age of seventeen, they either return to their Mother or remain on earth, giving up their powers and memories. A special few keep their powers for a special purpose. Serena is one of the daughters, with the power to read minds. Stanton serves the Atrox. But he tries to help, tries to be better, for her. Can he succeed?

10. Romeo & Juliet from Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet.
Had to put them on here guys. The number one forbidden and doomed love in literature.

to be continued...
